The Newport Tree and Open Space Commission, City of Newport Division of Forestry, and Newport Tree Society host this annual contest to celebrate Newport’s historic urban forest.

First Place: Star Magnolia on the grounds of the Newport Art Museum

Tied for Second Place: American Elm at the Common Burying Ground on Farewell Street opposite America’s Cup Avenue

Tied for Second Place: Sugar Maple at 665 Bellevue Avenue

Third Place: The Liberty Tree – European Beech at Thames and Farewell Streets
