Seascape

SEASCAPE IS A PRIVATE RESIDENCE. VISITATION BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Seascape is a modern hilltop estate located in the Ocean Drive Historic District, overlooking Gooseneck Cove and the Atlantic Ocean. Seascape’s gardens include three main areas: the “Woodland Ledge Garden,” the “Overlook Garden,” and the “Coastal Rockery Garden.” Each of these gardens aptly represent their unique moniker and location.

Gardening on this seaside hill exposed to the elements is no small task. Landscape designer Karen Barbera, who received her BS in Horticultural Sciences from the University of Rhode Island, has created a lush, resilient garden. Karen and associate artisans have also integrated beautiful hardscapes into the garden highlighted by fine stonework and artistically constructed wooden handrails to assist visitors who stroll through the garden.

Planting projects are ongoing at Seascape. Planned future plantings include: Metasequoia glyptoqtroboides, Fagus sylvatica ‘Red Obelisk’, Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Slender Silhouette’, Cornus kousa, and a dry river bed construction to direct rainfall drainage.
