First Newport Arboretum Satellite Nursery at Blenheim-Newport

Residents and staff at Blenheim-Newport are cultivating a dozen new introductions to the Newport Arboretum Living Collections. In a few years, these interesting new tree species will migrate from their home at this satellite nursery to new homes throughout the city of Newport.

The species under cultivation at Blenheim include:

Shumard Oak (Quercus shumardii)
Diamond-Leaf Oak (Quercus laurifolia)
Dunkeld Larch (Larix eurolepis x marschlinii)
Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis)
American Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana)
Hop Tree / Wafer Ash (Ptelea trifoliata)
Southern Catalpa (Catalpa bignonioides)
Variegated Sweet Gum (Liquadambar styraciflua ‘Silver King’)
Amur Maackia (Maackia amurensis)
Chinese Catalpa (Catalpa bungei)
Japanese Larch (Larix kaempferi ‘Diana’)
Compact Snowbell (Styrax japonica ‘Snow Charm’)
